Vijayapura set to host Vrukshathon marathon run
Several international runners will also be participating in the event, which will be held in four categories. While 55 persons have registered for participation in the 21 km run, 250 have enrolled for the 10 km run. As many as 1,200 persons will take part in the 5 km run, while 6,000 will participate in 3.5 km run. For 800 metres, 51 have registered their names. Registration of names for participation is being done online. The organisers said opportunity will be given for those who still want to register their names to do so on Saturday at Dr BR Ambedkar stadium in person.
The route map has been prepared and nine hydration centres have been set up. The event will be held from 5.30am to 9.30am and zero traffic arrangement will be made on the designated routes.
The run will start from Dr Ambedkar stadium and conclude there but the timing will be different for different categories. The 21 km run will commence at 6am, 10 km run at 6.45am, 10 km run at 7.30am, 5 km run at 7.30am and 800 m run (for children) will commence at 8.15am and 3.5km run at 8am.
For the participants, parking arrangements have been made at Darbar High School ground.

Cheetahs had a prominent presence in India's history before being brought for breeding. The last cheetahs in India were shot dead in 1947. 1,000 trains to run from different parts of country to Ayodhya in first 100 days of Ram temple inauguration
Indian Railways plans to run over 1,000 trains to Ayodhya for the inauguration of Ram Mandir. Trains will connect Ayodhya with different cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata, Nagpur, Lucknow, and Jammu. The station at Ayodhya has been revamped to handle high footfalls. IRCTC will provide round-the-clock catering services for pilgrims. Pilgrims can enjoy a ride in an electric catamaran on the holy Saryu river.
