School boy, 5, dies in road accident

Belagavi: A boy returning home from school along with his elder sister died in a road accident after a bike hit him while he was crossing the road on Wednesday evening. The incident occurred in Gurlapur of Mudalagi taluk. The deceased has been identified as Mutturaj Mugalkhod, 5, of the same village.Mutturaj was hit by the bike while crossing the Mudhol-Nippani State Highway on the outskirts of Gurlapur village and died on the spot. The boy, who went to a private school in Naganur on the first day with his elder sister, was returning after school hours. The incident took place when he alighted from his school vehicle and was crossing the road. A case was registered at Harugeri police station, and an investigation was initiated.
