Belagavi: Belagavi pro-Kannada outfits have demanded a ban on the Marathi film BOY3 in Karnataka, alleging that the film insults the Kannada language in some scenes.
The pro-Kannada outfits alleged that the Maratha Ekikaran Samiti (MES) was trying to create social disharmony and shared the film’s trailer on social media platforms.
In the trailer, a scene shows some actors in a Karntaka police station where the cop tells them to speak in Kannada or English. The actors say: “We are here in Belagavi to show our strength of the Marathi language.”
The outfits have written a to the chief minister. On Friday, they met city police commissioner Boralingaiah and submitted their letter.
