Prison inmate dies by suicide

Dharwad: A person facing a Pocso case allegedly ended his life by suicide in Dharwad Central Jail toilet on Saturday. The deceased is identified as Basavaraj Kumbar, 29. Sources in the jail said that he was found dead in the toilet. Suburban police rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation. They said they reviewed the situation in the jail. "Body was sent to the district hospital and waiting for the post-mortem report. A case was registered and investigation was launched over the death. Cause of death can be asserted only after arrival of post-mortem report and investigation," they added.
