Bidar: Here is some good news for Bidar railway passengers, as all the facilities of the modernised railway station will be available from April. Bidar Railway Station is being given a modern touch at a cost of Rs 24.3 crore under the Amrit Bharat Station scheme.

At present, most of the work is complete. The development of lifts, the departure hall, the parking area, the foot overbridge, the cover over the platform, platform surfacing, the escalator, the waiting hall, toilet construction, platforms, etc, is complete. Some more works are in full swing.
Speaking to TOI, an assistant engineer of Bidar and Secunderabad Railway, who did not wish to reveal his name, said that the work on the departure hall was 90% complete and will be finished by March 31. The renovation work on the old building is complete. The work on the circulating area for two-wheelers and vehicles is still going on. The parking area on both sides of the station is complete.
The work on the foot overbridge on both sides of the gangway is complete. Granite laying is also complete. The construction of the ramp is complete, and the handrail construction work is also complete. The installation of the escalator is complete, and the installation of the lift on both sides of Platforms 1 and 2 is also complete.
The cover over platform (COP) work is complete on both platforms, and platform surfacing work is also complete on both platforms. This includes granite installation, vacuum deuterated polar (VDF) concrete work, and PCC works.
Lift work is going on at Platforms 1 and 2, and the installation of the lift at Platform 1 is complete. The installation and testing of escalators on both platforms is complete and ready for use. The work on the passenger waiting hall is complete, and it is painted and furnished.
The work of increasing the length of the 2nd and 3rd platforms to 72 metres is complete, and only the flooring concrete work is pending.
A grant of Rs 25 crore for Bidar railway station work was sanctioned and released. However, Secunderabad Railway Division decided to increase the project cost and revise it to Rs 40 crore. Sagar Khandre said he asked the railway officers of Secunderabad Division to give him a report on the revised cost.
