Mother seeks police help, alleges daughter was kidnapped, forcibly married
Hubballi: A woman from Kelageri in Dharwad has approached city police commissioner N Shashikumar, alleging that her 22-year-old daughter, married, was kidnapped two years ago and married forcibly by a married Muslim man.In a memorandum, she said her daughter, though married to a known person, was living at her parental home. "A person named Munna was working as a car driver in a neighbouring house and was visiting our house frequently. When I was not at home in 2023, he lured my daughter and took her somewhere," she stated.She said she lodged a complaint at Dharwad Sub-Urban police station, but a missing person case was registered. "I fear that she has become a victim of Love Jihad. I have learnt that Munna was married to a Muslim woman from Ramadurga and they have two children. Now I am unaware of their whereabouts," she added.Urging the police to trace her daughter, the woman met the commissioner along with some Hindu activists. Shashikumar said he would look into the case file and take appropriate action.
