MLA murder conspiracy case handed to CID

BIJAPUR: The attempt to murder case of city MLA Appasaheb Pattanashetty has been handed over to the CID, said superintendent of police K V Shridhar.
The police officer said here on Sunday that considering the recommendations of the district police and importance of the case in which the life of an elected representative is in danger, the DG & IGP have been given orders in that regard.
The CID will take over two cases related to murder conspiracy, and within two days, the CID team will take over the case and begin investigation though the district police are already investigating the same matter.
The SP said that two persons have been arrested in this case and the search is on for the two other persons involved in this case.
On August 26, the police on night beat arrested five dacoits, out of which, one was involved in the murder conspiracy of the city MLA. Since both the crimes were connected, this case was also handed over to the CID, said the SP.
