Man dies after being run over by tractor

Belagavi: A man died after a tractor participating in the immersion procession of Ganesha idols ran over him at Patil Galli here on Wednesday. Sadanand Patil alias Chavan, 48, of Yallur village is the deceased, while Vijay Rajagol, 56, of Teggina Galli of Vadagaon was injured in the incident.According to police, the tractor trolley, loaded with a large-sized Ganesha idol, was taking a turn towards Kapileshwar temple from Kapileshwar overbridge when its driver lost control of the vehicle and it ran over the victim. Although Patil was taken to BIMS hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. A case has been registered at Khade Bazar police station.
