Hescom AE arrested by Lokayukta on graft charges

Haveri: Lokayukta police arrested B Mithunagouda, an assistant engineer of Hescom, in Guttal town of Haveri taluk, while he was accepting a bribe to provide a report on the completion of layout work. The accused, who was serving as the branch officer of Hescom in Guttal, demanded a bribe of Rs 40,000 to issue a report confirming the completion of work related to Sai Layout in Guttal town. The Lokayukta police conducted a raid at Hosamani Siddappa Circle in Haveri city while he was accepting the bribe from the contractor and took him into custody on Friday. The investigation into the case is ongoing. The operation was led by DySP Madhusudhan C and included investigating officers Vishwanath Kabburi, Shridevi Patil, Dadawali KH, and other staff members.
