Gadag man killed in domestic row, wife held

Gadag: A 29-year-old man was killed after being struck with an iron rod during an argument with his wife in Raddere Naganur village of Naragund taluk in Gadag district, police said. The victim has been identified as Vishwanath Hadimani, 29. Police have taken his wife, Kavita, into custody for questioning in connection with the murder.

Vishwanath and Kavita fell in love and got married in 2022. It is reported that there had been continuous discord between them since their marriage. Kavita, who had been away for a few days, returned to her husband’s house just 15 days ago.

Another argument broke out between the couple last night and escalated, police said. During the altercation, Vishwanath was attacked with an iron rod and died on the spot due to severe injuries.

The incident came to light this afternoon, shocking the villagers. Naragund police visited the spot, conducted an inspection and took Kavita into custody for further questioning.

A case has been registered at the Naragund police station, and police are investigating to ascertain the exact motive behind the murder.
