Belagavi: Cyberfraud cases are on the rise in Belagavi, with a businessman falling victim to an online scam. Suresh Marve allegedly lost Rs 4.2 lakh after clicking on an APK file sent by an unknown person posing as an official from a nationalised bank . Mistaking it for an important bank-related document, he opened the file, following which his mobile phone was illegally accessed. Within minutes, fraudsters transferred the money from his bank account. A complaint was lodged with the city's cybercrime police station, and the police registered a case and launched an investigation.
