Koppal: Some miscreants stole four cows and a calf belonging to Ramesh from Kumbara Mudukappa's field on Agoli Road in Gaddi village of Gangavathi taluk. On Sunday evening, Ramesh tied the cows in the field and went home. The theft came to light when he returned to the field on Monday morning. The cows were valued at approximately Rs 2.5 lakh. Locals suspect that the theft was carried out on Sunday night using an Ashok Leyland vehicle. Police from Gangavathi Rural station visited the site and reviewed the situation. They registered a case. Recently, nine sheep belonging to a person named Suresh were also stolen from the same village. Locals have urged the police department to pay attention as thefts of cows and sheep continue to occur in the area.
