DC inspects crest gate works at Tungabhadra Reservoir

Munirabad (Koppal): Deputy commissioner Suresh B Itnal inspected the ongoing crest gate works at the Tungabhadra Reservoir during his visit on Thursday.During the inspection, DC Itnal reviewed the progress of fabrication, dismantling and installation of the crest gates. Officials informed that out of the total 33 crest gates, fabrication of 32 gates has been completed, while one gate remains under fabrication at the Hosapete fabrication centre. A total of 32 gates, from Nos. 1 to 14 and 16 to 33, have been fully dismantled, while dismantling of gate No. 15 is currently in progress. Trial runs have been completed for 20 gates.Installation has been completed for 24 gates, while work on seven gates is in progress.SP Ram L Arasiddi, KNNL chief engineer Srinivas Malligawad, TR division executive engineer Naganath, AEE Dharmaraj, TB Board executive engineer Chandrashekhar and section officers G Kiran and Pampapati DK, along with other officials, were present during the inspection.
