Belagavi: Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot called upon people to consider the next 25 years as ‘Kartavyakaal’ (years of responsibility), to take India economically to the top of the world. Everyone should strive to regain the old glory of India, which used to be called ‘golden bird’ and ‘Vishwaguru’, till the centenary of Independence. He was speaking at the 23rd annual convocation of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), organised at Jnana Sangama campus on Tuesday. “Presently, we are in ‘Amritkaal’ and the country is the 5th largest economy in the world. There is a need for everyone's contribution to take it to 3rd position. I am happy that state and central governments are promoting industries to reach the goal. Youths can play a vital role in making India ‘Atmanirbhar’,” he opined. Higher education minister and pro-chancellor of the university MC Sudhakar advised the students to be alert about the upcoming changes. Minister said: “Getting a job is a major problem.
