Committed to developing Shiggaon-Savanur: CM

Haveri: Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai took part in an election campaign in his home constituency Shiggaon-Savanur on Sunday. He visited several villages and promised overall development of the constituency.At NM Tadas village, he said the work done in the last 15 years will continue in the next 5 years. The BJP will come to power on May 13, thanks to a pro-BJP wave across the state, he said,

He said none had imagined that drinking water will be supplied to Hire Bendigere village in Shiggaon. The work on the filling of tanks from Shiggaon Lift Irrigation Scheme is on and it will fill up in the forthcoming rainy season. A comprehensive project to supply drinking water to every village will be implemented, he added. Bommai said a junior college has been sanctioned for Hire Bendigere village and an insurance scheme for all farmers will be implemented. Later, the CM visited Hiremanakatti village and listed development works such as special grants for construction of temples and community halls. Each farmer will be given Rs 10,000 from June to buy fertilisers. He said he got a tremendous response in Kabanur village which was merged into Shiggaon in 2008. Lauding the political acumen of Bannur village, CM Bommai assured villagers of Tungabhadra water supply and schemes.
