CM will emerge stronger after Muda episode: MB Patil
Belagavi: Industries minister MB Patil said chief minister Siddaramaiah will emerge stronger from the Muda episode. "There is a divide even within the BJP for raising the wrong issue and some BJP leaders have spoken to me personally about it," he said.He was addressing mediapersons here on Friday. "There is no merit in the case against Siddaramaiah and it will be quashed in the court. Siddaramaiah is a strong leader. After the case, he will continue as our CM for a full term. People are noticing that the BJP is unnecessarily harassing him," he stated. The minister opined that the Muda was in the wrong by illegally encroaching the land owned by Siddaramaiah's wife. Later, it decided to give developed alternative land at a 50:50 ratio. In fact, in many cases, the court has ordered equal land-to-land compensation. Thus, action should be taken against the Muda. Siddaramaiah has no role in it, he asserted. Meanwhile, he clarified that he doesn't want to become a CM.Defending the ‘Raj Bhavan Chalo' call given by the Congress party on Aug 31, MB Patil said it is a fact that the governor of Karnataka is functioning as a puppet in the hands of the central govt. "The governor approved to prosecute CM Siddaramaiah to the complainant TJ Abraham within nine hours of receiving the application. He did not do any primary investigation before approving. On the other hand, he has been sitting on the applications seeking prosecutions against the Union minister HD Kumaraswamy and former ministers Shashikala Jolle, Murugesh Nirani and Janardhan Reddy for several months. Interestingly, in those cases, the primary inquiry has already been done, unlike in Siddaramaiah's case," he detailed.‘BJP targeting Dalits'Minister Patil said there is not even 1% merit in the accusations of Chalavadi Narayanswamy, opposition leader in the legislative council, against the family of AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge.Patil alleged that Narayanswamy is being used by the BJP and RSS to divide Dalits. "Why have other leaders like opposition leader R Ashoka or BJP state president BY Vijayendra not raised the issue? They tried to use a Dalit leader to malign the image of another strong Dalit leader, Mallikarjun Kharge. Even BJP did the same against BY Yediyurappa by using Lingayat Vs Lingayat strategy," he said.Meanwhile, the minister said considering the current scenario, BY Vijayendra will not continue longer in the state president's post of BJP. He said no leaders including Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, Ramesh Jarkiholi, R Ashoka, Basavaraj Bommai etc, are accepting him, he said.
