BR Ambedkar’s 135th birth anniversary celebrated across NK

A festive atmosphere prevailed in front of the statue. MLA Mahesh Tenginkai garlanded the statue.The taluk administration and social welfare department celebrated Ambedkar Jayanti at the taluk panchayat Sabha Bhavan, Hubballi. MLA Mahesh Tenginakai inaugurated the programme by offering flowers to a portrait of Ambedkar.Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi, observed Ambedkar Jayanti, which began with the singing of the Bhima Geeta and floral tributes. Presiding over the programme, VC Prof C Basavaraju said that Ambedkar's thoughts, ideals and contributions are an integral part of our society.Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hubballi (KCCI), celebrated the Ambedkar Jayanti by offering flowers to a portrait of Dr Ambedkar. President GK Adappagoudar emphasised that Dr Ambedkar's principles, valuable contributions to the Constitution and his messages of equality and social justice are a guide for all. KLE Institute's Sri Kadasiddheshwar Kala Mahavidyalaya and HS Kothambari Science Institute observed BR Ambedkar Jayanti. Dr Basavaraj Jigali, head of the history department, participated as a resource person. The programme was presided over by college principal Sumangala B Patil.Various organisations celebrated birth anniversary of Dr Ambedkar in the city.
