Ballari: An army personnel was seriously injured after he fell from a height of about 50 feet during parachute training near PD Halli on the outskirts of Ballari on Friday. The injured was identified as Colonel Chinnaraj, 25. He was airlifted to Bengaluru for further treatment by an Air Force helicopter. Parachute training was provided to army personnel in the PD Halli area for several years. On Friday morning, 417 soldiers participated in the training and jumped from the sky. During this time, Colonel Chinnaraj lost balance and fell, breaking the bone in his leg. He was immediately admitted to a local hospital in Ballari and given primary treatment. As his condition was serious, the authorities decided to move him to the Command Hospital in Bengaluru for further treatment. He was airlifted to Bengaluru by a special army helicopter that arrived at the ITI College grounds in Ballari. Typically, after completing parachute training, soldiers returned to Bengaluru by bus. However, due to this unexpected accident, a helicopter was used urgently, according to police sources.
