The procession was flagged off in the morning from the deputy commissioner's office premises by labour minister and Dharwad district in-charge Santosh Lad, along with deputy commissioner Snehal R.The procession passed through key areas of the city, including Court Circle, Sangam Circle, Madarmaddi, Bhoosappa Chowk, Medar Oni and KCC Bank, before culminating at the Karnataka Vidyavardhaka Sangha hall.Various cultural troupes added vibrancy to the event with performances such as folk dances, Karadi Majalu, Nandikolu and Jaggalige Mela, drawing enthusiastic participation from the public.Later, floral tributes were paid to the statues of Ambedkar and Basavanna at Alur Venkatrao Circle. The tribute programme was held under the joint aegis of the district administration, zilla panchayat, social welfare department and the HDMC.
Among those present were deputy commissioner Snehal R, zilla panchayat chief executive officer Bhuvanesh Patil, police commissioner N Shashi Kumar and superintendent of police Gunjan Arya, along with several dignitaries and officials.
