8 die in road accidents in Belagavi dist

Belagavi: Eight people died, and four were seriously injured in seven separate road accidents that occurred on national and state highways in the district on Saturday and Sunday. In a car accident that occurred near Koganolli checkpost, a couple was seriously injured and died on Saturday night. Jigar Nakrani, 28, and Hetika,24, of Sambhaji Nagar in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra were seriously injured in an accident that occurred when a car collided with a container vehicle parked near the checkpost in Koganolli village, Nippani taluk. They died in hospital on Saturday night. A one-year-old girl, who is injured, is recovering. The accident occurred when the family was going to Kolhapur from Hubballi. A case was registered at Nippani police station.In another incident, biker Srishail Havaldar,48, of Saptasagar village of Athani taluk died after a tractor loaded with sugarcane hit his bike on the Athani-Harugeri highway on Friday night. The rider of another bike, Yallappa Kamble, was seriously injured and is undergoing treatment. A case was registered at Athani police station.Bhimashi Beeragoudra, 28, died in a bike accident that occurred near Kallolli village in Mudalagi taluk on Saturday. Another rider who was injured in the accident is undergoing treatment. A case was registered at Ghataprabha police station.Basappa Channappa Gugguri, 58, who was admitted to hospital with serious injuries in a road accident that occurred in Kurani village under the jurisdiction of Yamakanamaradi police station in Hukkeri taluk, died on Saturday. Annapa Basappa Majjagi, 35, from Itnal village of Chikodi taluk died on Saturday evening after his bike collided with a tractor parked on Nipani-Mudhol road. A case was registered against Srimanth Yallappa Nandikurali from Itnal village for parking the tractor on the road in a way that obstructed traffic at Chikodi police station.A man from Pattankudi village, who was busy repairing his tractor, died on Saturday evening after being hit by an unknown vehicle on Nipani-Chikodi road. The deceased is Deepak Bhagwat Dayingade,40. A case was registered at Khadaklat police station.Biker Laxman Yallappa Hamani,45, of Sattigeri village, who was seriously injured in a bike accident on Saturday on Katakol-Yaragatti road near Yaragatti, died at Hubballi KIMS Hospital. A case was registered at Murgod police station.
