Dimapur: Nagaland’s lone Lok Sabha MP S Supongmeren Jamir has made a strong plea to the Centre to consider the accreditation and upgradation of Kohima Medical College into a premier central institute on the lines of All India Institute of Medical Sciences or the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences.
Highlighting the significance of Kohima Medical College as the first-ever medical college in Nagaland, Jamir said the institution represents a historic milestone in strengthening the healthcare infrastructure in the state.
The college commenced operations in Sept 2023 with an intake capacity of 100 students.
