Agartala: Tripura tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury on Tuesday announced that the state govt has decided to invest at least Rs 130 crore in developing infrastructure and tourist amenities at tourist destinations Chabimura and Unokoti.
He said besides lodging facilities and improvement of other logistics, the govt is spending Rs 62 crore for Chabimura and Rs 70 crore for Unokoti. Additionally, an elaborate plan has been drawn up to renovate and develop tourist spots like Neer Mahal and Jampui Hills.
"We shall organise five-day-long events in each of the tourist destinations to promote tourism and the cultural heritage of the state. Much like the Hornbill Festival observed in Nagaland, we are planning to organise an annual tourism festival to attract tourists," he said while attending the second event of the ongoing Tourism Promo festival.
