Tripura govt officials at IIM-Shillong to better rural governance skills
Shillong: Elected members and officials of the rural development (panchayat) department of the Tripura govt took part in a five-day programme at IIM Shillong that aims to strengthen grassroots governance and enhance administrative efficiency in rural local bodies.The event, inaugurated on Tuesday, is being organised by the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for policy research and analysis to facilitate the elected representatives and officials of panchayati raj institutions (PRIs) to effectively discharge their roles and responsibilities in rural development, planning, and service delivery.

After inaugurating the programme, Prof. Rohit Dwivedi of IIM Shillong emphasised the pivotal role of panchayats in achieving inclusive and sustainable rural development. He highlighted the importance of transparency, accountability, participatory planning, and effective implementation of govt schemes at the grassroots level and urged the elected members to ensure the holistic development of their respective constituencies.
