Rs 1.6cr drugs seized, 48 held in Dhubri since Jan
Dhubri: Police have seized drugs valued at Rs 1.6 crore and arrested 48 peddlers in 30 cases across Dhubri since January.
During the same period, 11 drug peddlers were arrested and 9 cases were registered under Dhubri police station.
Dhubri police station (Sadar) OC Pritam Das told TOI that crackdown against drug peddling would continue.
On the other, Dhubri Medical College and Hospital’s teachers’ association has planned a marathon on Apr 26 to spread awareness and help control drug menace.
Convenor of the Dhubri Marathon 2026, Dr Dina Raja, told TOI that drugs ruin the lives of youths and an united effort is needed to stop this menace.
