DIMAPUR: In the wake of the recent factional clash between the
NSCN groups in Zunheboto, the Sumi Hoho has urged the Union home minister to remove all the designated camps of the groups from within the Zunheboto district or to otherwise implement the ceasefire ground rules (CFGR) strictly both in letter and spirit.
In a representation to the Union home minister, the Sumi Hoho said the NSCN groups under ceasefire were not adhering to the ceasefire ground rules and that the ceasefire mechanism had totally failed to implement its ground rules, resulting in extortion and killing and creating panic and tension in the district.
The representation signed by Sumi Hoho's president, H Hesso, and secretary, Vihuto Asumi, disclosed that the Sumi Hoho had earlier urged upon the chairman of CFMG/CFSB in written to withdraw all the designated camps within Zunheboto district in view of the factional clashes, but in spite of the representation, the concerned authority had only appealed to Sumi Hoho to cooperate.
The representation was submitted to the deputy commissioner of Zunheboto on December 27 to be forwarded to the Union home minister after a silent procession organized by the Sumi Hoho.
In a separate press release, the Sumi Hoho said in spite of repeated appeals by the Sumi Hoho and Sumi frontal organizations to the warring NSCN groups to confine to their respective designated camps, the groups have failed to honour the voice of the people.
