In upper Assam’s Dibrugarh district, four people died when bamboo trees uprooted during the storm on Friday fell on them in the Tingkhong area. A report by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA) on Saturday said 20,286 people in 592 villages have been affected due to inclement weather in the last 48 hours. Over 20,000 people have been affected across 12 districts, the ASDMA said. It said 6,464 houses have been partially damaged, while 880 have been fully damaged.
