ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Police have arrested one of the prime accused involved in ransacking a newspaper office and assault on its associate editor recently.
Tagyo Sonam was arrested from from Polo Colony at Naharlagun, near here on Tuesday during a raid, Capital Complex SP Surinder Kumar said on Thursday. Sonam has been sent to 14 days' police custody by a local court here and interrogation is on to get clues on the whereabouts of the other persons involved in the incident engineered by Arunachal Pradesh Public Transport Federation (APPTF) on November 9.

The SP, in a letter to the DC, requested him to cancel the registration of APPTF and further requested the Gauhati HC and other courts in the state not to entertain any anticipatory bail petitions by any of the accused involved in the incident. Supporters of APPTF assaulted Tapan Kumar Das, the associate editor of an English daily and vandalised his office after an altercation over publication of a news item.
