Mizoram observes Palm Sunday with devotion
Aizawl: Palm Sunday, which commemorates the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem as king, was observed with devotion and solemnity across Mizoram on Sunday by various Christian denominations. The day, traditionally marked on the Sunday preceding the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, holds special significance in the Christian calendar. To mark the occasion, congregations across the state organised morning processions. In many churches, Sunday School students, teachers, and members of the congregation participated, carrying palm leaves and moving through localities, while singing hymns and raising cries of “Hosanna” in praise of God. Churches throughout Mizoram also held special worship programmes.
