Shillong: A high-intensity constituency development workshop hosted by the Meghalaya assembly was held at the State Convention Centre in Shillong on Friday to equip legislators with “data-driven tools” to address local challenges and accelerate constituency-level development.
Organised by the Meghalaya Institute of Governance in partnership with the Government Innovation Lab, the Harvard Growth Lab, the State Capability Enhancement Project, and the Indian School of Business, the workshop aimed to move beyond policy briefings and focus on practical delivery.
Assembly speaker Thomas A Sangma, who chaired the session, said the workshop marked a departure from conventional administrative briefings, with an emphasis on “rigorous economic diagnostics, with particular emphasis on youth employment and sustainable livelihood generation.”
A central theme of the workshop was the “Clarity of Purpose” initiative.
