Man held with 26g heroin worth Rs 1.37L in Namsai
Itanagar: A 41-year-old man was arrested by Arunachal Pradesh Police in Namsai district for peddling contraband substances, an official said on Sunday.Namsai SDPO Kengo Dirchi, who led a search operation on Saturday, said the police arrested Chow Yasha Hopak from the Mimey area under the Chongkham Police Station.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team carried out the search operation following due legal procedures in the presence of the executive magistrate and independent witnesses. Two soap cases, containing 26.06 grams of heroin worth around Rs 1.37 lakh, were recovered from the accused during the search, police said.The operation was carried out by Namsai SDPO Kengo Dirchi and Chongkham PS officer in-charge lady inspector Nang Kyami Khen and others under the supervision of Namsai SP Sangey Thinley. A case under Section 21 (b) of the NDPS Act has been registered at Chongkham PS and further investigation is on, the official added.
