Dimapur: An unidentified person was found hanging from a tree at Khuochiezhu, in Forest Colony of Kohima on Tuesday.
According to a release from the Kohima Police, a call was received at around 10:38am reporting a body seen hanging from a tree. Acting on the information, a team from South Police Station, led by its officer-in-charge, rushed to the spot.
Upon arrival, the team found an unidentified male (non-Naga) hanging from a tree branch about 15 feet above the ground. The deceased, aged around 35-40 years, was fair-complexioned, approximately 5.7 feet tall, and was wearing a red jacket, black T-shirt, and black shorts, the release stated.
After completing all legal formalities, the body was kept at the South Police Station morgue for further identification. Police also sought public assistance in identifying the deceased.
