Himalayan black bear cub rescued in Arunachal
Itanagar: A one-month-old Himalayan black bear cub was rescued by the Deomali Forest Division on Saturday, an official said.Deomali Forest Division range forest officer (RFO) Diwang Lowang said on Sunday that one Wanghon Lettey spotted the cub near an agricultural field. Pongpong Ruttum of Borduria village reported the finding to department officials, who responded swiftly and took the cub into custody.Lowang said the cub was provided proper care and was subsequently handed over to veterinarian Dr Panjit Basumatary at the Centre for Bear Rehabilitation and Conservation in Pakke Kessang for further care and rehabilitation.
