Shillong: The creation of a Greater Shillong Waste Management Agency and its registration as a society was approved by the state cabinet on Thursday, which would provide services specific request from the city localities

“There was a strong need for creation of a Greater Shillong Waste Management Agency. This has been done of course after consultation with close to about 100 localities in the Greater Shillong area which is about 288.5 square kilometres, if I am not wrong, and all these discussions have taken place with different localities,” chief minister Sangma said.“Consultation has been done with different localities and they have given their response, and majority of the ocalities have responded positively,” he said.
