GMC launches 400 mini high-mast lights across city
Guwahati: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) on Sunday launched 400 mini high-mast lights at religious and social sites across the city to improve night-time visibility in community spaces.The initiative was launched through video conferencing by housing and urban affairs minister Jayanta Mallabaruah. GMC mayor Mrigen Sarania, additional commissioner Dhruba Jyoti Hazarika, along with other senior officials of GMC and Guwahati Urban Light Company Limited were present at the launch event held at Mahamaya Than in Paltan Bazar area of the city.

“The installation of these lights at multiple locations across the city would enhance illumination in public areas, particularly during evening and night hours, while also contributing to improved safety and ease of movement for residents,” Sarania said.
