Former Mizoram min slams BJP on women’s quota
Aizawl: Former Mizoram minister Zodintluanga Ralte on Saturday said the BJP govt has revealed its true colours by linking the long-overdue implementation of women’s reservation to delimitation exercise. He said BJP has used the aspirations of India’s women as a tactical shield for a sinister agenda. In a statement, Ralte condemned what he called the NDA govt’s deceptive delimitation tactics under the guise of women’s reservation. “This is not about women’s empowerment; it is a calculated attempt at political gerrymandering. BJP is attempting to redraw the political map of India to suit its own electoral arithmetic, potentially disenfranchising millions and tilting the scales permanently in its favour. To hold women’s rights hostage to a future delimitation process is a blatant betrayal of the mandate of the people,” he said.
