Army sets up skill centre for differently-abled in Changlang

Itanagar: The Army has set up a traditional handicraft skill centre at Bordumsa in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh in its bid to empower the specially-abled youth.
Inaugurated on Friday, the centre will impart yougsters with different abilities essential skills to achieve self-reliance while preserving their cultural heritage, defence PRO and spokesperson for southern Arunachal Pradesh, Lt Col Amit Shukla said.
He said the centre represents a significant step towards inclusivity and socio-economic upliftment in the region and has been designed to teach traditional crafts, including bamboo work, weaving, wood carving and embroidery. This initiative will help create sustainable livelihoods.
