GUWAHATI: Rajlakshmi Borthakur, an Assamese entrepreneur based in Bengaluru who invented an epilepsy-detection device, said on Saturday that her firm will be working with the state government to help manage epilepsy.
T Jay, digital gloves which predict epilepsy attacks and allow remote monitoring of patients, had won Borthakur the Innovate for
Digital India challenge last year.
The first step towards managing epilepsy in the state was the inauguration of TerraBlue XT Telemedicine platform, a system through which epileptic patients and their families can avail treatment and counselling via teleconference with prominent neurosurgeons and experts from different parts of the country. launched the platform, which will be placed at the Guwahati Bio Tech Park.
Borthakur, CEO and founder of TerraBlue XT, said the launch of the platform was the first step in a pilot project in
Assam.
"We will be working with TerraBlue XT to help establish a proper business model. The onus as of now is focussed on creating awareness on epilepsy," said Vinod Seshan CEO of Guwahati BioTech Park and deputy commissioner, Kamrup.
