Silchar: Tension briefly flared in Cachar district on Thursday after BJP workers raised “Jai Shri Ram” slogans during TMC leader Sayani Ghosh’s visit to the Kachakanti temple in Udharbond, reports BB Goswami.Ghosh, a star campaigner for TMC, visited the temple to offer prayers while campaigning for her party’s candidate. According to sources, a group of BJP workers gathered at the temple area and began raising slogans as she arrived. As the sloganeering intensified, Ghosh cut short her visit and left the temple premises, proceeding directly to her scheduled public meeting venue.

“They wanted me to react to the slogans. But what is the point of sloganeering in front of a temple? I am a woman from a Bengali Hindu family and respect all religions,” Ghosh later said.
