Bhutan King Sends Envoy to Pay Tribute to Zubeen Garg in Guwahati

Guwahati: Music has no boundaries — Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck proved the same, when he sent a special envoy to pay tribute to Zubeen Garg on Monday.The envoy joined Zubeen’s fans and admirers at the Arjun Bhogeswar Baruah Sports Complex at Sarusajai.In a video shared by CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, the representative is seen interacting with and offering condolences to Zubeen’s wife, Garima Saika Garg.As dawn broke over Guwahati on Monday, the Sarusajai Stadium transformed into a sanctuary of sorrow and reverence yet again. Thousands continued to stream in, with heavy hearts and brimming eyes, to pay their final respects to Assam’s beloved cultural icon.Draped in a traditional Assamese gamosa, Zubeen’s mortal remains lay in a glass casket — an image etched into the memory of every mourner who came to say goodbye. From the highest offices to the humblest homes, the tribute was universal. Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya and Bollywood singer from Assam, Angarag Papon Mahanta, also stood among the crowd, united in grief.
