Atul Bora elected AGPLP leader

Guwahati: AGP president Atul Bora was elected as the leader of the legislature party following a meeting here on Sunday. Party working president Keshab Mahanta was elected as deputy leader and Satyabrat Kalita as secretary.

The meeting decided to give the role of chief whip to Gunindra Nath Das who has won from Barpeta constituency, said a senior AGP leader. The party leadership also felicitated all the 14 winners at its headquarters on Sunday.

Sources said the party is seeking at least five cabinet berths. This is one of the topics discussed during its steering committee meeting on Sunday.

All the senior leaders were present during the meet. "We are expecting a good share of cabinet berths," said AGP general secretary Ramendra Narayan Kalita.
