Arunachal cops nab 2 interstate peddlers, seize 42g of heroin
Itanagar: The anti-drug squad of police in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district arrested two interstate drug peddlers and seized 42.93 grams of suspected heroin concealed in four soap cases on Sunday, police said.Changlang SP Kirli Padu on Monday said the peddlers were arrested near Wagun Ponthai tri-junction on NH-215 under Bordumsa circle.

Acting on credible intelligence, the anti-drug squad team led by Bordumsa police station officer in-charge Tomai Wangpan intercepted a vehicle heading from Jagun in Assam towards Bordumsa.A thorough search led to the recovery of 42.93 grams of heroin, worth around Rs 2.74 lakh, hidden beneath the steering box, along with two mobile handsets and Rs 4,900 in cash.The peddlers were identified as Anil Sharma (46) and Dulu Baruah (40), police said. The vehicle has been impounded.
