Dibrugarh: The pathology department at Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) has secured accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL), marking a significant step forward in the institution's drive to strengthen diagnostic services.
NABL, an autonomous body functioning under the department of science and technology of the Centre, assesses and accredits laboratories that meet rigorous national and international quality benchmarks. Its recognition is widely regarded as a mark of reliability and scientific competence in medical diagnostics.
The latest accreditation makes the pathology department the fourth at AMCH to earn NABL recognition, joining the microbiology, biochemistry and radiology departments, which had previously received the certification.
AMCH principal and chief superintendent Dr Sanjeeb Kakati welcomed the achievement, describing it as a reflection of the sustained hard work of the faculty, technical staff and administrative personnel.
“This accreditation is a testament to the dedication of every individual who has worked tirelessly to meet the highest standards of quality in our laboratory services,” Dr Kakati said.
