Gurgaon: A 22-year-old man died, and two of his friends suffered injuries after their bike crashed into a divider near the Air Force Station on Old Delhi-Gurgaon Road on Thursday night. Police said Rajat had recently moved to the city in search of a job and was staying with his friend Nain Srivastava in Islampur. According to cops, around 9pm, Rajat, Nain, and their friend Uday were heading to a dhaba when the accident occurred.Uday was riding the bike, and had a helmet. However, pillion riders Rajat and Nain were not wearing helmenst, police said. "The rider lost control and the bike rammed into a divider. Rajat sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Uday is undergoing treatment for injuries, while Nain suffered a leg injury and was discharged after first aid," said an officer.Police said preliminary findings suggest that Rajat's life could have been saved if he had been wearing a helmet. The body was sent for an postmortem examination, and further investigation is underway.
On Friday morning, In another accident, a 27-year-old nurse died as her scooter was hit by a car near Medanta Hospital in the Sadar police station area.The victim, Neha, was on her way to work at the hospital. The impact led to severe injuries. She was immediately taken to the hospital, but the doctors declared her dead upon arrival.Police took possession of Neha's body and sent it to the mortuary. The family of the deceased was informed about the incident. The post-mortem examination will be conducted once her family members arrive. Investigating officer Sanjeev stated that CCTV footage from the vicinity is currently under review to gather more information about the circumstances leading to the accident. No case was registered till the filing of the report.
