“No action has been taken to check this illegal dumping near our society. I have personally tried to stop this only to be threatened by the tractor driver, who claims to have links with some influential people. The concern is that besides this being illegal, it is also turning into a huge health hazard,” said Amit Sinha, a resident.
Residents said dumping of garbage in the area is a big concern as waste handling is not a forte for the civic bodies in Gurugram. “We have complaint several times to MCG, GMDA, and to the pollution watchdog, but no action has been taken. The air quality index is always high in the sector,” said Raman Chawla, RWA president of Ireo Grand Arch.
Meanwhile, an MCG official said that they are aware of the dumping of and burning of waste in the sector. “Our Basai plant is active ans we will soon provide relief to the residents,” an official said.
