Deputy commissioner T L Satyaprakash said, "We are trying to set people straight just by giving them a warning. However, I truly believe that a regulation will not help if people do not understand the gravity of the situation and still operate this way." Satyaprakash mentioned that water supply is still short of 30 MGD and urged residents to use water judiciously .
Kendriya Vihar, RWA member, K K Vohra confirmed that he had seen people washing their cars despite the warning.
However the city administration's steps to cut down the wastage, the villages and the rural areas remain highly un- monitored where water usage is the maximum. "Will anybody will highlight the criminal wastage of water in villages where wastage is 1000 times of urban wastage, where all the connections and unauthorized and without a tap. I am sure the sight of treated water flowing from thousands of outlets in each village will make any sensible person to cry. I humbly request you to highlight it in the interest of one and all," said Sedhu, a city resident.
