NEW DELHI: The
Delhi police on Friday arrested a coach and his associate from the Dwarka area in connection with the killing of a young wrestler and her brother in Sonipat.
Wrestler
Nisha Dahiya and her brother were killed, whereas their mother suffered injuries in the shooting incident that took place at a wrestling academy in Haryana's Sonipat district on Wednesday.
The accused have been identified as Pawan Barak (25), a resident of Rohtak in Haryana and a coach in the wrestling academy, and Sachin Dahiya (23), a resident of Sonipat, said police.
Police said that a revolver has been seized from Barak's possession.
Both the coach Pawan and his associate Sachin were absconding after the incident, and the police had also announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for information.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said, Sachin was previously found involved in two cases under the Arms Act.
Sonipat principal medical officer Dr Jai Bhagwan had said that four bullets were recovered from the wrestler’s body and three from her brother’s body.
Meanwhile, in her complaint, the murdered wrestler’s mother told the police that the coach used to visit their house as her daughter regularly attended his wrestling academy.
