GURGAON: A 30-year-old labourer from Uttar Pradesh died after being run over by a tractor-trolley in the New Colony area on Friday night. An FIR has been registered against an unidentified driver for rash and negligent driving.According to an eyewitness, Rajesh, the accident happened around 8.30 pm. The victim, Deepak Kumar, was sitting inside the trolley tractor when its driver drove rashly, causing Deepak to fall off the vehicle. The right wheel then ran over him. Rajesh said he was standing near a petrol pump when this happened. With some help from passers-by, Deepak was rushed to a hospital in a tempo truck. Police said the tractor involved bore registration number HR-55 AJ 4274 and was red in colour.The victim’s brother, Dinesh Kumar, said the family first received a call from the New Colony police station about the accident. They were told on their way to Gurgaon that Deepak had succumbed to his injuries at PGIMS Rohtak.Deepak was initially taken to Civil Hospital in Sector 10, and later referred to PGIMS Rohtak, where he died during treatment. “Based on a complaint filed by Dinesh and medical records, a case was registered under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (death by negligence) of BNS at New Colony police station. Further investigation is underway,” an officer said.
