IFFCO Chowk underpass likely to be ready in a week
GURUGRAM: The
National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) contractor, who had earlier told TOI that they would take a month's time to complete the project once they are given the land, are working on a war footing to complete the 55 metre stretch that was holding up the underpass completion.
The land was handed over to NHAI on February 6 after Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) allotted a site in Sector 26A to the petrol pump owner.

An official from Gawar Construction said, "We will complete the concrete part by Tuesday. The canopy of the underpass is being made at Rajiv Chowk. We are hopeful that within the next few days, work on the remaining stretch will be completed."
The deadline for this project is May 2019. TOI has learnt that if this project is completed by March, the contractor will get 3% bonus which is given by NHAI on finishing work before time. The Rs 285 crore IFFCO Chowk underpass project was announced in September 2016 and the cost is being shared by the state government (25%) and NHAI (75%).

and supervisors are working at the site. Till now, 5 metre of surface has been cut, and the steel binding of the underpass raft has started. By Tuesday night, concerting of the raft will be completed. Around 50 labourers are working 24 hours for the last few days to ensure the completion of the underpass at the earliest."An official from Gawar Construction said, "We will complete the concrete part by Tuesday. I thank the Haryana Government atleast they have genuinely making efforts to reduce congestion at IFFCO Chowk.No previous govt even tried to touch IFFCO chowk because it was not a very easy task.Read allPost comment
