LONDON: “No one has copyright on the Bhagwad Gita; it is meant for all. The
Gita
is not a dharma granth but a jeevan jeeney ki kala, (the art of leading a successful and fulfilling life),”
Haryana industries and environment minister Vipul Goel said at the Gita Mahotsav, which was held recently.
Goel, who also held a Haryana road show to seek foreign investment, added, “In keeping with our traditional belief of ‘welfare for all’, we would like to share with the world the wisdom of the Gita.”
He told UK
business
leaders that India and the UK have always had strong historic ties and that his government would like to strengthen them further by offering good opportunities to invest in his state. Haryana, he emphasised, ranks at the top of the ‘ease-of-doing-business’ index in north India.
Sharing the stage was Karan Bilimoria, UK industrialist, House of Lords peer of Indian origin and founder of Cobra beer, which has a brewery in the state. He said Brexit or no Brexit, they were proud to be among the manufacturers in the state and that the collaborations between the UK and Haryana will continue to offer great potential.
