NEW DELHI: Gurgaon’s relentless rain has turned daily commutes into survival drills, and one video on Instagram has perfectly captured the chaos.
Shared by the account gurgaon_locals, the clip shows a man balancing his scooter on his head while weaving through stranded cars in a traffic jam.
Assisted by another man, he carried the two-wheeler as if it were a backpack, leaving stunned commuters and online viewers in disbelief.
The video has already racked up over 90,000 likes and hundreds of comments, with users joking about “desi jugaad” and the extreme lengths people go to escape Gurgaon's waterlogged roads.
The viral stunt comes after Monday’s record-breaking rainfall, when the city was hammered by 100mm of rain in just five hours, making September 1 the wettest day of this
monsoon season.
Wazirabad logged the heaviest rainfall at 85mm, while other areas like Kadipur and Harsaru weren’t far behind.
Meteorologists explained that the chaos was triggered by a rare weather phenomenon — a collision of the monsoon trough with an active western disturbance, causing Gurgaon to reel under one of its heaviest showers in recent years.
